I’m not a big drinker these days, so when I do decide to partake in some libations I like to make sure I’m enjoying myself and my drink. All this to say that I was honestly shocked I came up with such a delicious fall cocktail that’s equally warm yet refreshing and perfect for crisp weather! My fiance and I had a cocktail challenge where we each had to come up with our own concoction for our wedding menu. Mine is the one shown below and
Bourbon (Vodka is you prefer)
A dash of cinnamon
First, start by making an infused simple syrup by creating a Ginger Spice and replace the 2 Tbsp of honey with 8 cups of sugar. Simple syrup is equal parts water and sugar. This will make a large batch perfect for a harvest party or any of the upcoming holidays. If you’re only interested in making a small bath cut the ingredients in half or even thirds.
Once your simple syrup is made and has had time to cool. Take equal parts simple syrup and bourbon. Measuring with a jigger 2 oz of each, pour all the ingredients into a shaker over ice and shake until combined. Pour the contents into a glass (I used a martini glass because it’s what I had) and top with a splash of apple cider and a dash of cinnamon to taste.
If you’re not a bourbon fan it can easily be substituted for vodka which is how I had originally served it when I first made this drink for my wedding bar menu.
