As a graphic designer, I was struggling to think of how I could use my niche to help others, then came the idea of Encouragement Cards. With a little bit of brainstorming this is what I’ve been working on. I’ve uploaded 4 designs here completely free to help encourage others to uplift their neighbors, family, and friends. You can download the images below each design posted here and get them printed up on VistaPrint where you can print a custom 5.5 x 4 notecard at $13 for a quantity of 10.
From here you can send Encouragement Cards out to anyone you love that you’re looking to uplift in these tough times. I’ve attached both front and back notecard options and ideas to mix and match. Also, by purchasing stamps from USPS to send these out you’re helping to keep alive a very important institution. If you’re an artist and interested in creating encouragement cards for people to send out to loved ones let me know, I would love to post them here.
All of the designs below were developed from a small watercolor I had recently painted. I created the design Break Your Patterns After a particularly tough day, a friend of mine recommended I listen to an episode of The Skinny Confidential (attached here!) where they discuss how to reframe your thinking while in quarantine. They chat about how their lives were in constant motion before this and they hadn’t spent so much consistent time at home and with family since they were small children. We have to start thinking of what we have gained and not what we’re losing. This mental reframing may be the only thing that gets us through this. You may have been set into a pattern in your life that needed some examination. This is a chance to break negative patterns and find a new way to thrive.
